Streamlined integration

Project Management and Bug Tracking Integration: Just edit your case, click on “Add UI Mockup”, create your mockup using the in-browser editor, and save it. The mockup will show up as an image on the case, which others will be able to use as a starting point for a new iteration. Every version of the wireframe is saved on the case, both as an image and as a downloadable BMML file editable with Mockups for Desktop (for when you're offline).

Wiki Integration: just add and edit mockups within wiki pages easily within the browser (screencast coming soon).

On-Premise Licenses

Our software licenses entitle you to perpetual use, are based on the total number of named Mockup editors you need, and include 12 months maintenance (updates/support) commencing from the date of purchase. Renewing maintenance is entirely optional.

Your plugin license and your FogBugz licenses do not have to match, you could have a 100 user installation of FogBugz and only purchase a 10 user pack for the Mockups plugin. You will be able to specify which 10 of your users should be able to create and edit mockups via a simple interface (details). You can transfer edit rights between your users easily, which allows you to recycle licenses that were used by someone who left, etc.

Desktop Included - every Mockups For FogBugz On Your Server license key can be used for equal number of Mockups For Desktop licenses, so that your designers and engineers will be able to work on their wireframes when they are offline.

Purchasing Additional Licenses - you can purchase add-on licenses at any time. Once you've done this, you do not need to reinstall Mockups for FogBugz — just add the new licenses to your current installation and begin using them right away.

Buying Mockups For FogBugz is easy, secure and should take less than 5 minutes. Credit card payments (form below) are the easiest and speediest, but we also accept Purchase Orders to be paid by US-checks or electronic wire transfers (for orders over $300), email us your PO. 6. Configure the plugin with your company name and your new serial number.

Mockups for FogBugz onDemand is sold as a monthly subscription from within the plugin's configuration page itself.

Each plan comes with 30 days of free usage, and you can change or discontinue your plan at any time.

What? No free startup and students 2-person version?

We are aware of FogCreek's great Student and Startup free offering. In fact, we use it ourselves! So why don't we offer a similar program? Here's a few reasons:

• Mockups for FogBugz comes with free Mockups for Desktop, which is normally sold for $79 per user. Our 3-user plan is only $8 per user per month, which we believe is a pretty good deal for both the Desktop version and the Mockups for FogBugz plugin (the way this works is that when we receive your first payment we send you a license key for Mockups for Desktop, in your company name and for an equal number of users as your chosen plan allows).
• We want to provide great customer support and free updates to all of our Mockups for FogBugz onDemand customers, big or small. These things cost us time and money, as we're sure you'll understand.
• FogCreek's goal with the free accounts is to spread the word about their great software. We have a similar program with Mockups for Desktop, click here for details.

Software Maintenance (support & updates)

Mockups for FogBugz On-Premise licenses come with 12 months of free product updates. Licenses of 25 Editors and higher also come with 12 months of free support. Beyond this initial 12 month period, you may renew your software maintenance for a further 12 months at our discounted renewal prices.

Note: Maintenance renewals commence from the expiration of your active maintenance period, regardless of when the maintenance renewal is purchased. If you intend to renew, we recommend renewing at least 30 days before expiration.

On-Premise Maintenance licenses are not for sale yet, as new licenses include a year of maintenance and Mockups for FogBugz has not been for sale for more than a year yet.

FogBugz onDemand Customers receive support and updates for free, included in their subscription.

 

Community & Open Source licenses

Community

Balsamiq Mockups for FogBugz is free for use by official non-profit organizations and charities (proof of non-profit status is required). There are certain organizations whose purpose is to make the world a better place, and we believe in helping them achieve that.

Community licenses are designed for organizations which are non-profit, non-government, non-academic, non-commercial, non-political and secular in nature, that would not otherwise be able to afford FogBugz. If your organization is philanthropic in nature then you probably qualify.

To apply for a Community License, send us an email specifying the following information:

1. The registered name of your organization
2. Your organization's URL
3. a short description of your organization

Open Source

Balsamiq Studios supports and believes in the Open Source movement. Balsamiq Mockups for FogBugz is free for any Open Source project to use.

There are a few requirements for an Open Source license, the main ones being:

• Established code base
• Publicly available project website
• Using an approved open source license
• Your FogBugz instance will be publicly accessible

To apply for an Open Source License, send us an email specifying the following information:

1. Project Name
2. Project URL - Your project must have a public URL
3. Project Description - Please outline the goals of your project and its intended users.
4. FogBugz Instance URL.
5. Open Source License(s) used - Licenses must be on the list of licenses approved by the Open Source Initiative at http://opensource.org/licenses/alphabetical
6. Where can we download your source code?

 

Licensing Terms

A commercial/academic license entitles you to:

• Deploy a single instance of Balsamiq Mockups for FogBugz as a plugin to a single instance of FogBugz in a production environment on 1 server accessible by the number of editors licensed
• Unlimited Mockups
• Perpetual Balsamiq Mockups for FogBugz use
• Software maintenance for 12 months - including all updates and online support

Licensing fees are quoted per total number of ‘Mockups editors’. A Mockup user is by definition any user account in the FogBugz system that hosts Balsamiq Mockups who you give edit rights via the Mockups for FogBugz configuration interface, i.e. anyone who can create and edit mockups while logged in. Unlimited ‘anonymous users’ are permitted to view mockups on all licenses.

The following organizations are eligible for a Balsamiq Academic License:

• Educational institutions: Public or private K-12, vocational schools, correspondence schools, junior colleges, colleges, universities, or scientific or technical schools that are accredited by a national accrediting agency.
• Administrative offices & boards of education: Provincial, district, regional, national and state administrative offices and authorities of the Educational Institutions defined above.
• Public libraries
• Public museums
• Home-school programs
• Research institutes that are affiliated with an accredited university.
• Teaching hospitals that are affiliated with an accredited university.
• Training and teaching organisations that are accredited by a statutory government qualifications body.

Proof of accreditation or affiliation may be required when ordering a Balsamiq Academic License.
